Government to curb soaring wheat prices. Focus on household finances, for food and energy

The government is considering leaving the selling price of imported wheat to domestic milling companies unchanged from October onwards. Prime Minister Fumio Kishida announced at the "Prices, Wages and Livelihood Comprehensive Headquarters" on the 15th that he would take seamless measures for food and energy to reduce the burden on households. Coordination will be hastened to formulate concrete measures in early September. However, there is no prospect of a calming down in prices, and concerns over ballooning fiscal spending are growing.
