Japan's sovereign debt, reached 1255 trillion yen, a record high, end of June

The Ministry of Finance announced on the 10th that the government's debt, which is the sum of government bonds, borrowings, and short-term government bills, was 1,255.1932 trillion yen as of the end of June. This is an increase of 13.8857 trillion yen from the end of March when the previous announcement was made, reaching a record high.
Against the backdrop of the expansion of social security and expenditure accompanying the response to the new coronavirus, the increase in short-term government bills issued to make up for temporary fund shortages has had an impact.
