In the April-June 2022 consolidated financial results announced by Mazda on the 9th, the operating profit, which indicates the profit of the main business, was in the red ink of 19.5 billion yen (26.1 billion yen in the same period last year). The lockdown in Shanghai, China, resulted in sluggish automobile production. It will be the first time in two years that the business will be in the red in the April-June period.

Sales decreased by 23.2% to 617.2 billion yen, and net profit increased by 31.8% to 14.9 billion yen due to the impact of the yen's depreciation. Strong orders for the CX-60 model, made Mazda keeping the full-year forecast unchanged.
