In response to the deterioration of the current government building, the new building that Daigo Town in Ibaraki Prefecture had been constructing in Kitadaki, was completed, and a ceremony was held on the 20th, inviting related parties. It was built entirely out of wood to promote the forestry industry, which is one of the town's main industries, and all structural members are made from timber produced in the prefecture. Of these, 60% used wood from Daigo. Town Mayor Tetsuhiko Takanashi said, "I want to do everything in my power to ensure that the new government building will lead to the vibrant development of the town."
